Hi, friends! Are you ready for the big game? Will you be going to a party? This year we are staying home - to be completely honest, I'm really not that interested in the game this year. I'm not really a fan of either team, but I'll enjoy it I'm sure. All the kids will be here and I'm going to teach Sarah how to arm knit - so we'll have fun crafting while the men enjoy the game!!!
Today will be a big temptation day for me tho - this past week I started on the Weight Watchers plan and so far, so good - but; you know the men in this house are going to have to have their football favorites - and they should. I just need to stay away from it! So, my plan is to have alternatives and leave the room when the pizza arrives! I'll be in another room eating my salad!
So, enough about game day - I'm really here to share how I added a few POP's of red to the master bedroom to brighten things up this winter. I've used accents of red in my kitchen, dining room, and porch over the holidays and really like how it just brightens up an otherwise neutral space.
I don't have many red accessories in my stash (other than for Christmas), so I went out to Marshall's to see what I could find for a good price! First, I found a beautiful cozy knit throw in clearance aisle for just $10!
Check out this red and cream houndstooth pattern iPad case! Another steal for $7! I picked up this journal because of the bright red binding, but then I read the front cover - SOLD!
I will use this to jot down ideas I get for the blog and shop in the middle of the night. That way, I will have the idea written down, because I typically forget it by morning! I just remember having this awesome idea, but have no clue what it was!
I added a few red faux peonies to a small white pitcher I already had to complete the bedside table vignette.
I love how just a few simple and useful items bring an instant brightness to the room! I'd love to hear what you think! Thanks for stopping by!
If you follow me on PINTEREST - I'll be over there pinning away during the game - just in case you are looking for a distraction!!!
Also, if you don't follow me on INSTAGRAM, you should! I'll be posting pics of Sarah and I with the scarves we make during the game!
