Who would have ever thought the words Dollar Tree and Elegance would go together! Have you been to the Dollar Tree lately? I was amazed this year at some of the ornaments and gift wraps that they had to offer. And, all for just $1.
I found these white glitter wreath ornaments. They were two for $1. They are plastic and have an iridescent glitter, which I do like. But, I like real silver German glass glitter more. I knew I could make these ornaments really sparkle with the silver glass glitter.
I just painted the wreath ornament with Elmer's school glue and dipped them in the glass glitter. You could also use regular craft store glitter to give them more sparkle. I tied each glittered ornament with a black sheer ribbon and hung them on my tree.
I also used them to embellish a few of the Christmas gifts under the tree. I just attached a little music sheet banner tag to the wreath ornament.
Last year I made these white chocolate and candy cane hot cocoa spoon stirrers from Dollar Tree plastic silver spoons - so many people thought they were my real spoons and not plastic! You can see how I made them HERE.
The other thing I made last year were a set of Twas The Night Before Christmas reindeer ornaments. For these, I just added more German glass glitter and little banner name tags. Super easy! You can see more HERE.
Today, Shannon of Fox Hollow Cottage and Debbie of Debbiedoo's are having their second annual Dollar Tree Christmas Party. If you've repurposed something for Christmas that you purchased at Dollar Tree, then stop by either of their blogs to enter the link party!
Also, remember that today I'm visiting Kelly of Eclectically Vintage at her blog, where she is sharing my home tour. I'd love for you to stop by and say Hi to Kelly, and while you are there, take a look around - you will enjoy what you see there! Here's a teaser picture of her gorgeous holiday home!
